Job description
Operations Lead
Pixie Scout Workplace Food Services: Etsy (Full-Time, Onsite)
The Operations Lead is a full-time role on Pixie Scout’s Workplace Food Services team at Etsy. The position directs all operational aspects of the food program, including system management, communications, equipment/supplies, team management, menu planning, data reporting, and the Pantry Program.
Qualifications include extensive experience in hospitality and food service operations, strong leadership and administrative skills, proficiency with spreadsheet-based systems, and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
Duties include the following:
Daily Operational Oversight
- Build and maintain spreadsheet systems to centralize all operational data.
- Coordinate digital and physical signage content with Etsy.
- Liaise with Etsy and vendors on equipment maintenance, infrastructure updates, badge access, and feedback resolution.
- Manage non-food supply inventory and team communication channels (Slack/radios).
- Oversee operations for the Chef Residency Program, including menu reviews and hosting guest chefs.
Team Training and Management
- Manage Culinary Production, Service/Expo, F.I.R., and Pantry Stocking teams alongside the Culinary Lead.
- Handle hiring, onboarding, scheduling, policy documentation, and attendance monitoring.
- Verify and submit weekly timesheets to the Director of Operations for payroll processing.
- Oversee the F.I.R. + Pantry team in receiving shipments, stocking pantry spaces, and maintaining equipment.
Food Safety and DOHMH Compliance
- Ensure program-wide adherence to NYC DOHMH standards, leading walkthroughs and inspections.
Procurement and Inventory Management
- Manage all Pantry Program product ordering, vendor accounts, and stock procurement.
- Support Culinary Lead with general food procurement and handle outbound equipment returns or food fulfillment.
Menu Planning
- Co-lead quarterly menu development with the Culinary Lead and gather feedback from Etsy stakeholders.
Client Interfacing
- Serve as the main liaison between Etsy and Pixie Scout, managing day-to-day operations and client communication.
- Escalate critical concerns to the Director of Workplace Food Services when necessary.
Internal and Client-Facing Reporting
- Submit weekly billing information to Pixie Scout Accounting.
Track and analyze program data (sales volume, item performance, feedback) for weekly and quarterly reports.
Pixie Scout Leadership
- Contribute to Pixie Scout's growth initiatives and expansion planning within existing workload capacity.
Job requirements:
4+ years of professional culinary experience
1+ year of professional culinary leadership experience
Understanding of and adherence to NYC DOHMH standards and policies
NYC Food Protection Certificate required
English Language Proficiency: written and verbal fluency required
Computer Skills: Google Workspace applications including Docs and Sheets, mobile applications including Slack and Homebase
Job details:
40-45 hour work week, Monday - Friday
Daily schedule that falls between 6:30 AM - 5:30 PM
For this position, we are offering a salary range of $75k - $85k
