- Arrive early to set up ingredients, equipment, and workstations
- Guide students through measuring, chopping, mixing, cooking, and following recipes safely
- Introduce simple, age-appropriate nutrition concepts using KCL’s curriculum and Nutrition Pillars
- Create a positive, patient, and inclusive environment that encourages kids to participate and try new foods
- Help students practice teamwork, independence, and safe kitchen habits
- Clean and organize the classroom and cooking equipment after class
- Complete occasional class-related administrative tasks and attend required team meetings or trainings

- Can confidently manage and engage a group of children
- Able to transport class ingredients and supplies to and from program sites as needed.
- Is comfortable using Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and other basic online tools
- Is available for consistent weekday afternoon/after-school classes
- Previous professional culinary experience is not required. We care most about finding people who are comfortable in the kitchen, enjoy working with kids, and are excited about KCL’s mission.
KCL provides instructors with our curriculum, recipes, teaching resources, training, and cooking equipment. Instructors are also supported as they become familiar with our class structure and teaching approach.
Compensation: $125 per class. Compensation includes lesson preparation, grocery shopping, class setup, instruction, cleanup, and related coordination. Approved grocery expenses are reimbursed separately.
