Olde Hudson is a specialty food store located amid the shops, restaurants, and art galleries of downtown Hudson, N.Y. In addition to our outstanding selection of artisanal cheeses, we offer fine charcuterie, all-natural meats, fresh fish, fresh vegetables and high-end pantry items.

We are looking for a self-motivated and hard-working person who shares our passion for the finest artisanal cheeses and specialty foods to join the Olde Hudson team. Shifts include weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities will include:

• Keep store displays (shelves, coolers, freezer) stocked, organized and clean
• Ensure fresh products (cheese, charcuterie, etc.) is appropriately set up and organized at the start of the day
• Weigh, cut, and wrap artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, meats, and vegetables
• Use POS system to ring-up sales, manage cash drawer
• Clean all food prep surfaces and utensils at the end of the day

Required Skills Include:

• Knowledge of artisanal cheese (we are willing to train otherwise qualified candidates)
• Proper handling and maintenance of cheeses, charcuterie, fish, and vegetables
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent people skills
• A high attention to detail
• Friendly and effective customer communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
• A passion for food and for learning about food

This full-time position is approximately 35-40 hours per week and pays by the hour. Salary is based on experience. Employees receive a 20% employee discount.
