THE ORGANIZATION
New Amsterdam Market promotes regional economic development. We support small businesses dedicated to creating local food systems and to reviving the thriving, equitable culture of the urban public marketplace. We currently operate an outdoor weekly public food market every Sunday, from 11 AM - 4 PM, in front of the historic Fulton Fish Market in Lower Manhattan.
THE POSITION
New Amsterdam Market seeks a Fruiterer.
RESPONSIBILITIES

This entrepreneur will seek and source excellent fruit from the Region within 500 miles of New York City

Sell these products on behalf of New Amsterdam Market

Together with the Market, the Fruiterer will set the standards for which fruit is to be sold, season by season

Incrementally, the Fruiterer will develop a year-long repertoire of Regional production.
This business incubation project will commence immediately; the hired Fruiterer will be paid a salary of $75 per Market Day and receive a commission of 20% for all fruit sold (with the balance of 80% to go to the Market). Further details will be discussed during the interview.
