Steve’s Craft Ice Cream operates a plant in Long Island but we’re opening a full-service store in Brooklyn, NY! We’re looking for a few energetic, reliable, and outgoing people to run our high-end coffee program. Ideally, the barista will have no less than two years experience on bar and in the Specialty Coffee Industry.
We’re serious about hiring a staff that inspires real enthusiasm for coffee. We’re also serious about keeping things local: we support the Ramapo Valley coffee roasters, Plowshares, whose coffee beans we use in-store and in our ice cream. All of our milk comes from the Hudson Valley dairy cooperative, Hudson Valley Fresh.
Our baristas will have a full understanding of the principles of espresso preparation, coffee extraction, tasting and analyzing espresso, and milk and drink preparation. With this commitment comes the opportunity to work on our Three Group Slayer Espresso Machine. The Slayer is a newer machine on the market and is meant for a barista who is willing to learn new concepts and gain complete control over brew temperature, pressure, and shot regulation.
