ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for creating all financial transactions and creating financial reports from that information. The creation of financial transactions includes posting information to accounting software from such source documents as invoices to customers, supplier invoices, inter-company transactions. The Accounting Manager will also reconcile all accounts to ensure their accuracy and assist with month-end and year end closing, account analysis and supporting the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain Chart of Account by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of every bank account and balances accounts by reconciling entries on a monthly basis.
- Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
- Balance general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
- Maintain responsibility for all accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Assist in Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Budget and prepare Monthly Financial Statements.
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
- Maintain historical records by filing documents.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information/trends
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure risk mitigation and fraud prevention internally and externally. Identify areas for improving internal controls, policies and procedures or improving business operations.
- Assist Management in the evaluation of the Company’s internal control environment. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures in day-to-day conduct; recommend and implement improvements.
- Participate in periodic analysis of financial results for assigned functional areas and other related accounting or finance documents/schedules.
Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting or Finance
- CPA a plus
- Strong English language skills
- 3-4 years of experience in accounting
- Advanced Quickbooks experience and knowledge is an absolute must.
- Work experience in the financial aspects of manufacturing companies.
- Ability to lead projects; manage multiple audits/tasks and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
- Ability to think independently; professional demeanor, a can-do attitude and other qualities that include decisiveness, excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Detail-oriented, able to work according to schedules and work plans, ask good questions and request help as needed. Contributes to team effort.
- Good record keeping and organization
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, and cost control principles.
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Experience performing financial, operational, and system audits.
- Experience writing policies and procedures.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
