Job Description:
The Media Coordinator will work with the New Amsterdam Market Director to spread the word about the New Amsterdam market both through traditional and social media platforms. The market seeks to engage the broader community in both attending the market and supporting its larger goal of permanent public market in a revived Fulton Market District. The Media Coordinator would be responsible for distributing that message and engaging as many people as possible.
Responsibilities will include:

Generating media coverage through press releases, pitches, and relationship building.

Developing written, photo and video content to be used to promote the Market.

Managing the Market’s social media accounts.

Developing strategic partnerships that will help to elevate the visibility of the Market.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would share our passion for the adaptive reuse of the Fulton Market District and the development of a thriving public market, food hub, and public space. This position will initially be a volunteer position however it is the intention of the market to raise funds to support its staff so that the position may very well evolve into a paid staff role.
