Job Description The Juniper Spoon Catering Manager

The Juniper Spoon is a mid-sized catering company committed to supporting local and organic farmers and producers while crafting delicious and creative meals for events of all sizes throughout West-Central Indiana. We are currently seeking an Catering Manager who will have the primary responsibility to ensure the success of catering events.  This person will manage all stages of events from initial contact with the client, through the day of the event, and post-event follow-up. The position is part time as determined by the catering schedule, with an average of 20 hours per week.  If a full-time position is desired, additional responsibilities may be added to the position. These are listed below the list of primary responsibilities.

Primary responsibilities include:

• overseeing and managing all event activities;
• visiting event facilities prior to events;
• ensuring appropriate supplies and decor are packed for the event;
• supervising kitchen and wait staff at functions assigning staff responsibilities;
• organizing, leading and motivating the catering team;
• ensuring health and safety regulations are strictly observed at events;
• monitoring the quality of the product and service provided;
• maintaining communication with client before, during and after event;
• understanding and communicating core values associated with local food and food issues
• promoting The Juniper Spoon and solidifying its reputation as the premier caterer for events in West-Central Indiana;

Possible additional activities include:

• sales and marketing
• cooking/food prep
• social media engagement
• managing relationships/orders/deliveries with local farmers
