Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream is an independent ice cream company creating and serving locavore ice cream and sorbets using organic and natural ingredients grown in the Pacific Northwest whenever possible. Molly Moon’s serves kids, friends & families in Wallingford, Madrona, Queen Anne, and Capitol Hill’s Pike/Pine corridor.

Molly Moon’s is looking for a smart, hard-working, self-motivated, friendly person to join our kitchen team! The Kitchen Assistant at Molly Moon’s will work flexible, part-time hours at the Capitol Hill location and doesn’t need to know how to make ice cream. This is a great position for a hardworking individual wanting to get their foot in the door in a bustling production kitchen.

Responsibilities:

• Help the Ice Cream Maker label, pack, and store 400+ pints and cups of ice cream each shift;
• Assemble, wrap, label, and store ice cream sandwiches and popsicles when needed;
• Work with the Ice Cream Makers to continually inventory back stock in order to produce what’s needed each day;
• Assist Ice Cream Makers when needed in preparation of ice creams, sorbets, and toppings;
• Effectively maintain, understand, and operate the depositor machine and air compressor;
• Communicate relevant information to Scoopers and Ice Cream Makers in an effective and friendly manner;
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines with care;
• Keep kitchen and freezer areas inviting, clean, and organized;
• Wash dishes & utensils throughout the shift;
• Bring music to work to contribute to the shop’s fun environment;
• Contribute to Molly Moon’s goals for increasing sales and creating loyal customers (i.e. ice cream addicts!).

Qualifications:

• Passion for food, cooking, and quality;
• Ability to stand six to eight hours and lift up to 50 pounds;
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions with precision as well as give great attention to detail;
• Ability to properly multitask without compromising quality;
• Demonstrated self motivation while also being a dedicated team player;
• Great communication skills and a professional, friendly attitude;
• Ability to text and/or check email on a daily basis.

Compensation:

• DOE with incremental, merit based raises;
• Health insurance for those who work 25+ hours/week for 60 days;
