UrbanSpace is seeking an organized and hard-working Assistant Manager to oversee the operation of a new, permanent food hall near Grand Central. UrbanSpace is a leading developer of retail and food market projects, bringing the best independent local brands and entrepreneurs together to create new, exciting marketplaces. UrbanSpace Vanderbilt will be home to 20+ of the best chef-driven businesses and food programs in New York. We are looking for a problem solver who is continuously motivated to find creative solutions to budget and spatial limitations. The job may also entail managing a market for packaged, prepared, and dried goods. Heavy lifting and the ability to work nights and weekends will be required.
General Daily Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Support and manage a large group of creative, food-driven restaurant vendors.

Hire, manage, and effectively communicate with maintenance staff.

Enforce standards for general operations, food safety, and customer service.

Supervise the food market public space to ensure all vendors and patrons are following Department of Health and State Liquor Authority rules.

Oversee vendor coordination and scheduling of common areas.

Ensure the public areas of the food market are clear of rubbish and potential safety hazards.

Familiarity with all in-market systems including, POS, sound, lighting, security, HVAC, to problem solve and support

Maintain an inventory management system for common products

Help execute and manage a packaged and dried goods market
Requirements:

Excellent communication and customer service skills. Must demonstrate problem solving and customer service capabilities in a demanding environment.

Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, as needed

3 year F&B experience.

Food Handlers Certificate; if not already obtained, must secure within 1 month of employment

Working knowledge of Mac Platform, MS office products
