Laura Chenel’s was founded in 1976 by goat cheese pioneer Laura Chenel and upholds a long tradition of European-style artisan cheese making using fresh goat milk from family-raised goats in California and Nevada.
Founded in 1865, Marin French Cheese Company is the longest continually operating cheese company in America, with a unique history of handcrafting traditional and original soft-ripening cheeses. It has grown from a small family business to an expanded, state-of-the-art facility, producing cheeses that are sold nationally and regularly earn top honors in international cheese competitions. Both companies are expanding and we are looking for an Associate Brand Manager to join our Marketing Department.
MISSION
Assist in developing and executing brand plans to drive share and growth, build brand strength and deepen consumer connections.
This full-time position reports to the Marketing Manager of Laura Chenel’s and Marin French Cheese.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of his/her direct report, the Associate Brand Manager deals with the brand activities of Laura Chenel’s and Marin French Cheese– the job includes, but is not limited to:
- Product development
- Coordinate with designers for the creation of new labels and packaging
- Participate in new products’ development
- Develop briefs & presentations for internal use and outside suppliers related to the execution of the action plans.
- Market analysis
- Monthly statistical analysis of the sales, by product and by company
- Competition analysis
- Promotion/ Advertising/ PR
- Develop the advertising material, including flyers and product sell sheets
- Animate our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram) through social media calendars as well as the creation of the trimestral newsletter for Marin French Cheese
- Marin French Cheese retail store: help with the decoration of the stores, photos renewal and update, gift baskets…
- Animation of Laura Chenel’s and Marin French Cheese websites (updates, recipes, contests)
- Manage the competition’s process: entry deadline, products description, shipment and follow up with the organization; analysis of the results
- Build Marin French Cheese customer database
- Compile all articles and communication regarding both companies on a trimestral basis;
- Participate in Trade Shows, demos and cheese tasting as needed
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business preferred, or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
- 0-2 years of Marketing/ Branding experience
- Cheese - Food knowledge is a plus
- Demonstration of ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative reports and write assessment reports

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
- Must be able to drive to Laura Chenel’s in Sonoma + Marin French Cheese in Petaluma on a daily basis
- Ability to work on some weekends during special events as well as a few evenings during the year
- This is a full-time position but internship will also be considered
