Market Hall Caterers is looking for someone with exceptional leadership skills, a blazing record of increasing sales, and of course, a tireless and incessant passion for food and food knowledge. Our small, but mighty, team consists of 10 experienced staffers. This job is not about keeping the status quo running smoothly – it’s about creating exciting opportunities that will engage both customers and staff. Are you hungry?
Responsibilities
Food

Menu development
-
Recipe creation
-
Incorporate dishes into MHC menus from the Market Hall Food’s Chef’s Case and the Market Hall Bakery
-
Create seasonal, monthly and Holiday menus
-
Set quality standards for catering presentation
Team Development and Management
-
Refine systems and policies to support the staff and customer relations
-
Further develop training protocol, both initial and on-going
-
Successfully manage teams in two locations
-
Hire staff, performance reviews, terminations as needed
-
Develop staff in their food knowledge
Business Development/Sales
-
Create new sales channels, develop new customers and create new avenues of getting food to the Market Hall customers

Set and exceed sales goals
Full Service Events
-
Set policies {minimums, travel area, rentals, etc}
-
Create systems for event support {off-premise inventory system, storeroom management, etc}
-
Develop and manage on-call teams, both in-house and through staffing agencies

Work off-premise events as needed
Additional Responsibilities

Create meaningful reports, establish metrics for success

Assist Mar/Com team with newsletter, blog and web site content

Support the entire Market Hall Foods team, during the busy Holiday Season.
Desired Candidate Experience and Skills
-
3 years management experience
-
1 year catering experience
-
Food sales and/or business development experience
-
Can demonstrate experience in menu/recipe creation
-
Is experienced in understanding customer needs and has a good sense of which foods sell
-
Understands budgets and can exceed goals
-
Has staff development experience, a proven record of leading a team to success
-
Marketing/social media experience is a plus
-
Some weeknights, weekends and early mornings may be necessary
