Despana Brand Foods is a family run operation that has earned a very strong presence as a recognized leading importer of authentic, high quality, brand name food products exclusively from Spain. Despana Fine Foods & Tapas Café opened in Soho in 2006 and became the flagship location of the parent company. In 2011, they opened Despana Vinos y Mas, a boutique specializing in Spanish wines and liquors. The store operates conveniently next to the cafe in the fashionable neighborhood of SoHo, NYC.
Job description
We are seeking an E-Commerce Sales and Social Media Associate who is enthusiastic, motivated and disciplined individual with a desire to learn and join our team. The candidate should be passionate about the food/wine culture and all things Spain in order to be knowledgeable for customer service and to create compelling content. The position is a combination of sales, marketing mixed with e-commerce and social media. The main focus of the position will be on the front lines of updating, maintaining and handling all incoming web orders. The job dovetails into creating a strong social media presence, developing the brand’s voice on a digital level and to drive our social media strategy and growth. The candidate will need to have excellent verbal communication and flawless writing skills, a knack for analytics and a second-nature understanding of the complex world of social media to cultivate a dynamic online environment for our ever-growing community.

Ensure customers receive their correct eCommerce orders in good condition and on schedule.

Must be able to handle daily operations of the online business and have exceptional customer service skills.

Search engine optimization knowledge and experience is helpful.

Must be organized, professional and be familiar with web advertising techniques (e-mail blast, social media, Video, etc.) to build and maintain an extensive positive web presence for our Company.

Candidates should be familiar with Wordpress, Photoshop, other site support software and be capable of maintaining, updating webpage to promote our products, services and sales.
Social Media portion:

Amplify our voice online.

Guide all efforts to build and engage our audience across social media platforms.

Overall Responsibilities:

Be a quick learner in understanding the business and extensive list of imported products

Taking photos and revising for the web & social media

Manage and update website content and products listed on ecommerce platform

Manage all on-line orders received via email to coordinating with shipping department

Manage and maintain the monitoring and analytics systems to track ecommerce and social media engagement

Customer service orientated to handle e-commerce and customer request/questions

Develop brand awareness through the creation of original content, short-term and long-term campaigns, newsletters and promotions

Manage and support all digital media marketing efforts for special events and promotional opportunities to ensure that they are keeping with our vision and goals

Oversee day-to-day digital media initiatives; including posting diversified content and developing strategies to improve user engagement and drive action across all major channels – Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.

Attend events to cover all the brands activities from a digital media perspective
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of social media marketing, website management, email marketing and digital advertising

Complete understanding of all social media platforms and on-the-pulse about the latest technologies

Solid written and oral communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a sharp understanding of how copy should adapt according to the platform and application as well as an understanding of current social media trends

Passionate about food, wine and Spain, and knowledgeable about industry trends

Creative thinker, self-starter, excellent with deadlines, hungry to learn, attentive to detail, fun, energetic and flexible

Working knowledge of WordPress, Photoshop, and other social media management tools
