Job description

The StarChefs editorial team is looking for an organized, hard-working editorial assistant who loves restaurant industry culture and would NEVER consider himself or herself a foodie. StarChefs is a small, dynamic, not-at-all corporate company that works with chefs, beverage professionals, artisans, and restaurants. You’ll be an integral part of a hands-on editorial team that works with some of the most exciting people and ideas in the culinary world.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing the editorial team for tasting trips, including candidate and travel research

• Interview culinary professionals before scheduling tastings

• Writing for and helping publish our weekly newsletters

• Promoting articles through social media

• Editing recipes, bios, and interviews

• Maintaining our tasting and interview database

• Chef communication for Rising Stars and the International Chefs Congress

• Fact checking and managing permissions

What were looking for:

• Culinary school or at least one year of experience in a professional kitchen

• At least one year of full-time work experience

• Journalism, English, history or related writing-focused college degree

• Experience publishing in a content management system

• Energy, dedication, and passion for the industry

• Ability to stay highly organized and multitask

• Outgoing personality
