Company description We're not a company -- we're a family who cares a lot about how we eat. We buy local foods and cook from scratch, and love being around the table together. Job description We have 10-year old boy-girl twins, and we're looking for someone who will build a great relationship with them over the next few years, and who will enrich their lives, help us feed them well, teach them to cook more, and help us run our household. (We live in Brooklyn Heights.) 

This is a slightly-more-than-part-time position, with some exposure to the world of food media (I run a kitchen and home website). We'd need you to pick our kids up at school at 2:40 pm and care for them until 7 pm. We go out at least one evening per week, usually until 11 pm, so it amounts to about 25 hours a week. Additionally, we'll need full-day care from 9 am to 7 pm on school holidays and vacations, and during some summer weeks. We'd also like cooking/serving help with parties we host, and some cooking-related work projects. There'd be about 5 weeks of full-time work per year.

Our ideal candidate is someone who will take our kids to museums and parks, arrange playdates, and keep them amused and engaged. Reading and homework are key, as is cooking. Ideally you are extremely organized, tidy, and the kind of person who will notice that our dry cleaning needs to be picked up, or that the kids' bookshelf needs sorting, or that we're out of cumin and add it to the grocery list.
