Job description

Cut Brooklyn is looking for an assistant to take on various administrative duties, serve as a front-of-house person for the retail space, and assist with some aspects of the knife-making process.

Duties include but are certainly not limited to:

• Packaging and shipping customer orders, tracking and troubleshooting shipments
• Responding to customer inquiries over the phone, email, and in person
• Maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of the shop and retail space
• Ordering and inventory of materials for shop and storefront
• Assisting in certain aspects of the production process
• Taking on special building, organization, or research projects for the shop as necessary

The ideal candidate will have:

• A strong interest in handmade goods and practices
• Excellent organizational skills and great attention to detail
• Customer service experience, and a friendly and personable demeanor
• Experience using Microsoft Office / Google Drive applications, and Quickbooks.
• A careful, calm, and practiced approach to working with your hands
• The ability to work independently, and be a self-starter, with experience across a broad range of building and construction disciplines
• A willingness to take on any task - large or small, simple or complex

This is a full time position. Our weeks run Tuesday-Saturday, so you must have Saturday daytime availability.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $15/hr +
