Green Top Farms is an urban farm based in NYC dedicated to healing our broken food system. Our mission is to "Make healthy easy by providing nutritious meals, on demand, straight from the farm." What began as an experiment in urban farming has evolved into a seed-to-salad healthy lunch delivery service. We grow the microgreens included in each salad and the rest of the ingredients are as local and sustainable as possible - we've partnered with other local farms to create what we believe are the freshest, most delicious salads in New York City, with greens cut the same day they're delivered.

We're dedicated to healing our broken food system and believe vertical farming (indoor, stacked growing systems) will be a key factor in achieving that end. Job description

Are you a high-volume cook, passionate about using your skills to make a lasting and meaningful change in our food system? Green Top Farms is seeking a Kitchen Manager to run our catering and meal production operation.

We are a rapidly expanding startup - we grow and source local, seasonal ingredients to deliver New York's freshest salads. In our first year, we have experienced tremendous growth to some of the most desirable clientele in New York City and are on course to grow over 500% in the next six to twelve months.

The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for preparing our established menu items on a daily basis for individual lunch and dinner clients as well as corporate catering events. You will also have the opportunity to exercise your culinary creativity by designing and executing new seasonal menu additions on an ongoing basis, using the best locally available produce. You will be the leader in the kitchen and over time will hire and manage a team of line cooks. You will also manage inventory, do the necessary purchasing, and have ultimate responsibility for quality of food preparation and compliance with proper sanitation and safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have the following skills and experience:

• Management of a high volume kitchen

• Building and implementing systems for high volume catering

• Menu development & ability to scale recipes

• Training and leading a team

• Inventory management and purchasing experience

• Ability to track and manage food costs

Compensation / Growth

• This is a part-time position, but will grow to full-time over the next several months

• Compensation negotiable, based on candidate’s experience
