Farfields Farm is a young hybrid permaculture project located in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Afton, Virginia.
Our farm is a home and workplace for a team of people committed to developing and modeling regenerative agriculture. We operate a number of small-scale, commercial farmstead endeavors, principally producing free-range soy-free chicken eggs, pastured beef, and medicinal and useful plants. Farfields is a base for weaving faith and field; arts and ecology; hospitality and community; production and education. Farfields is home to The Center for Georgical Jubilism- an arts fellowship and field research center for the meeting of art, agriculture, mythology, and spirit.
Job description
Farfields Farm General Manager (Full Time Position)
The General Manager will work to support and integrate the various enterprises of the Farfields Farm, including production systems, hospitality, events, outreach, and infrastructure projects. The manager will directly work with a diverse team of project managers (full and part-time), assisting in the strategic thinking of Farfields Farm, with a focus on business development and vision cohesion. The manager will be supervised by the Director of the farm, and also, at times, interface with various related projects (and staff teams) that are associated with Farfields through the founding organization, Yeorvelah.

QUALIFICATIONS

Business experience and/or M.B.A.; track record growing a business

Managerial experience/management skills; highly skilled mentor with track record of coaching

Experience and/or network connections within the permaculture / regenerative agriculture /holistic management field

Experience with Jewish, Christian, or inter-faith community / traditions

Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal), including meeting facilitation, conflict resolution, and team building strategies

Ability to understand, interpret and enforce policies / cultural agreements in an accurate, fair, and equitable manner
