FULL CIRCLE FARM SUMMER CAMP MANAGER
Full Circle Farm (FCF) is partnering with Stanford University to offer six, one week, farm camp summer sessions. The summer camp did so well last year that we are expanding the program for summer 2012.
Each age group will need two weeks of curriculum. One full week of curriculum for each age group has already been created. The Summer Camp Manager will use and revise the existing curriculum and will generate one week of
NEW curriculum for each age group.
In addition to the six weeks of camp, the manager will work one full-time week prior to the start of camp, and one full-time week after the close of camp. The week prior to camp, the Summer Camp Manager will provide training, orientation, expectations, etc for summer camp staff and organize general summer camp prep. The final week is intended for curriculum modification, summer camp reflections with summer and farm staff, and for introducing new community connections to farm staff. Depending on the Summer Camp Manager’s prior teaching commitments for the fall, the structure of the post-camp week may be modified or optional.

The six weeks will be broken down by age groups:

July 30 – Aug 3, 11-15 yr olds
The Summer Camp Manager will report to Full Circle Farm’s Education Manager and will supervise 4 Stanford University students who will serve the role of camp educators and researchers. One full time AmeriCorps Member [Regular Full Circle Farm Educator] will also work with the camp staff.
The Full Circle Farm Summer Camp Manager will be responsible for the following tasks.

Developing a second week of curriculum for each age group. This will require working with FCF’s Education Manager to ensure that it fits FCF’s focus on food, nutrition and sustainability. Curriculum outline is expected by the beginning of February 2012 and complete curriculum by the start of April 2012.

Collect all materials needed for summer camp. Material costs must remain within materials budget.

Manage the marketing of the summer camp, beginning in January –including working with school districts to distribute flyers. The aim of this task is to promote enrollment in the camp. Our aim for enrollment is to parallel the full demographic of Santa Clara County. The maximum for each week is 30 campers.

Support the hiring of Stanford Educators for the camp in late winter/early spring.

Act as a primary liaison between with Full Circle staff and Stanford University to support and strengthen partnership.

Manage the camp and camp staff during the months of June, July, and August.
