Job description
as our business grows, we are looking for a talented cook to become an important member of a tight-knit team where creativity is fostered and growth for the right candidate is encouraged. the ideal applicant will have a strong work ethic and positive attitude, along with a desire to learn and continuously take pride in the food put out on a daily basis.
responsibilities-prep for both cafe and catering menus
-lunch and weekend breakfast service
-ability to run a shift on your own
-operate a clean, safe kitchen while exceeding food quality requirements
-support & maintain the systems in the restaurant
-collaborate with the chef on weekly and seasonal specials
requirements
-2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen -- experience in catering is a plus
-experience in inventory & receiving
-strong knife skills, with the ability to break down vegetables and proteins in a clean and efficient manner
-solid knowledge of cooking fundamentals and techniques
-strong understanding of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures -- food handlers license is a plus
-attention to detail -- maintaining a clean and organized station at all times
-applicants must have his/her own knives
Compensation
this position is : hourly, $15/hr +
