Cornwall School is seeking a food service director to work at our small (82 student) school with a thriving Farm to School program. We are looking for an individual who is committed to scratch cooking healthy, locally-sourced, fresh food for our students. The ideal candidate will be familiar with using fresh, in season produce; and knowledgeable about governmental food storage and safety regulations (Safe Serve certification is preferred, though not required). The ideal candidate will also work collaboratively with students, parents, and teachers around food service; be interested and willing to work with Farm to School program and our Cornwall School garden; collaborate with our parent organization on special events; and be able to accommodate different dietary restrictions/needs. The manager is responsible for the ordering of food, preparation, and serving of all meals. The position requires a person to lift 50 lbs. Competitive hourly rate and benefits available.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Planning monthly breakfast and lunch menus
- Shopping and ordering all food and managing the food
- Taking in money for the meals and making deposits
- Billing students for meals
- Upkeep and cleaning of the kitchen
