ISSUE NO. 448

THIS IS THE SEASON . . .

or lack of season, as it were. The time that is supposed to be Spring, but Winter has yet to fully release its grip. The time when our Winter CSA is winding down, but farms don't yet have a lot of fresh food available. The time when we wait for the ramps and nettles to poke up, eager for some fresh, wild food. The time when our seed trays still look barren, but within a week or two, we'll start to see green.

We're looking forward to the full onset of Spring.

Cheers,

Tay + Dor

tidbits...

what we’re reading / listening to / watching / noticing / thinking about / captivated by this Tuesday…

One of our favorite organizations has some stellar job openings (some of which are food related, all of which are awesome).

While we are lucky not to require our baked goods to be gluten free and dairy free, this chocolate cake is not only delicious, it's a breeze to make. When the craving hits and you need a good chocolate cake in 30 mins flat, this will be a new go-to for you.

There's nothing as reliable as the perfect pot of beans.

This week, we're turning our winter greens into salads for some crunchy balance to the morning frost, and this is the dressing that makes us forget the chill.
