Job description
The High Lonesome Ranch (HLR) is a national park-scale landscape dedicated to restoring, conserving, and stewarding the Colorado Rockies. As one of only three Audubon Certified Bird-Friendly ranches on the Western Slope, we operate at a "Beyond Organic" standard to protect critical wildlife corridors.
This position assists the Ranch Services Manager with administrative tasks and HLCC Sales & Marketing coordination. The primary function is to serve as the ranch's lead storyteller, developing and executing a full digital marketing strategy alongside the seasonal management of Farmers Markets. Core responsibilities include:
• Driving all social media and digital content creation and strategy (calendars, posting, engagement).
• Managing targeted digital advertising and email marketing campaigns to nurture leads and ensure a positive ROI.
• Represent HLCC at Farmers Markets and create online conversions and live share leads.
A self-motivated work ethic is imperative. The Associate is responsible for translating our complex landscape initiatives—such as Adaptive Grazing and Regenerative Agriculture—into compelling content that drives beef sales and lead generation. You will be the face of one of Colorado’s few 100% grass-finished beef operations, converting market visitors into long-term customers and "live share" leads.
ADMINISTRATION TASKS
- Always provide the highest quality of service to the customer and ensure that employees of your department do the same.
- Act as a contact for vendors and customers not assigned to other departments.
- This position must perform other duties assigned, of which the employee is capable and will be expected to have a knowledge base of all ranch operations in order to lend a helping hand to other departments when needed. Hands-on work may be required.
- This position requires working nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary based on scheduled events onsite and offsite.
- Communicate HLR Model, Adaptive Grazing, Regenerative Agriculture, and other Landscape Initiatives and onsite practices to customers, staff, partners, etc.
DIRECT HLCC SALES TASKS
- Communicate, coordinate, and verify sales orders between sales and operations teams.
- Manage transportation coordination, package, and ship beef orders.
- Develop & maintain relationships w/customers & staff - collect orders and disseminate information.
Service selected list of customers purchasing HLR beef products.
- Assist with customer set-up, invoicing, sales administration, and billing reconciliation.
- Support sales team efforts - maintaining/communicating product spec sheets, company overview, sell sheets & product info.
- Assist in maintaining price lists and marketing materials for customers and sales team.
- Provide marketing support – social media, marketing materials, POS, manage Farmers Markets.
- Serve as customer service point person for consumer inquiries via website, email, or phone.
- Provide business development reporting - sample requests, prospect lists, conversions, sales reports, etc.
- Help to identify areas for business growth opportunities.
- Assist with weekly sub-primal ordering/distribution.
SALES & MARKETING TASKS
- Develop social media strategies, create content calendars, and use paid advertising to reach specific demographics.
- Responsible for collecting and creating photo and video content, managing posts, and engaging with followers across all social media platforms.
- Craft effective email campaigns to help nurture leads and maintain customer relationships.
- Design email templates, create compelling content, segment email lists, and track campaign performance.
- Use platforms like Google Ads and social media ads to create targeted advertising campaigns.
- Manage budgets, create ad copy, select keywords, and monitor ad performance to ensure a positive return on investment.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, content creators, and sales teams, to ensure a cohesive marketing strategy.
- Use knowledge of basic graphic design, web site content management, and publication layout skills to create monthly newsletters, blogs, and local pr articles.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Base Pay: $20-$23 (hourly) DOE.
- Education: High school or equivalent (Required). A two-year degree in business, marketing, or other applicable degree program is preferred. Combination of education and experience will be considered.
