ISSUE NO. 460

THE CYCLES CONTINUE . . .

and sometimes it feels as if they are over before they've arrived. I can distinctly remember writing in my diary, in middle school, about how hard it was to wait for summer vacation to start. Now, as I'm beginning to push at 40, I feel like one of those distorted voices in slow motion shouting, 'Sloooow dooooown...'

The solstice remains a special time of year to us, even if it's fleeting. As we approach this year's longest day, we're reminded how things always ebb and flow. And the most important thing, always, is to keep trying to live in the moment, enjoy what is right here, right now.

Here's hoping that if you're reading this, you get the chance to go outside, soak up some sun, hear the birds chirp, and feel a warm breeze.

"It stunned me to realize that main way most people on earth will experience climate change is through its impact on food." Gretchen Rubin interviews Amanda Little, author of The Fate of Food: What We'll Eat in a Bigger, Hotter, Smarter World.

YUP, we're still celebrating salad season.
