Job Description Organization Overview           

The Alternative Dairy Institute (previously American Micro-Dairies) is a non-profit 501c3 organization based out of Royalton, VT committed to educating and connecting dairy farmers engaged in sustainable farm systems.           

We’re a small non-profit comprised of an enthusiastic staff committed to education, fostering farmer connections, and safe, farm-fresh milk. We’re passionate about promoting and supporting farmers who seek to steward healthy animals and healthy landscapes. We do so by maintaining an educational website with information for new and established farmers, offering classes, and running an FDA-certified Dairy Testing laboratory. We’re committed to helping farmers establish and maintain healthy herds while providing milk and dairy products to their communities.

Duties/Tasks           

The part-time Project Manager will work at the ADI facility in Royalton, Vermont for 20 hours per week.  The work will include administrative tasks, information management, assisting the ADI dairy testing lab manager, and possibly working at the ADI micro-dairy. 

The ideal candidate will be curious, enthusiastic, highly organized, self-directed, capable of working with minimal supervision, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

ADI offers a fast-paced yet flexible and supportive workplace environment where the right candidate will have the opportunity to play an important role in the success of the organization. Pay will be based upon qualifications and experience.   

Educational & Professional Outcomes           

This unique position offers a chance to gain management experience at a small non-profit in its growth and development stage. The right candidate will gain experience in website development, fundraising, and content creation, while commanding a management role at an inspired non-profit. If interested, opportunities also exist for on-farm experience at our micro-dairy.
