Creative Culinary Partner Simmer

  • Date Posted November 25, 2015
  • Location San Francisco, CA
  • Category Business / Culinary
  • Job Type Part-Time
Job Description About Simmer:

Simmer is an early stage company based in San Francisco that aims to serve seasonal, organic soup and bone broth. Using local, organic, and whole food ingredients to put a healthy spin on a culinary staple, our goal is to serve high quality food to help people lead healthier lives.

Role Description:

Simmer is looking for a talented culinary professional to help develop and test the initial concept at greater scale. We've started validating demand for the concept locally, but need someone to help take the product to the next level. The right person for this role is someone capable of translating the concept into uniquely delicious meals that can allow Simmer to fulfill its broader vision.

This entails developing recipes and testing the product to make it the best it can be. An experienced chef is preferred, but anyone with the skill and ambition to create unique and delicious meals will be considered. You will start by working with the founder to develop 3-5 seasonal soup and broth recipes, which will then be tested and distributed within San Francisco.

Creativity is essential, as our goal is to create the healthiest, most unique and delicious soups and broths available. Experimenting with various cultural inspirations and flavor profiles is highly encouraged, as our menu takes a seemingly simple product and makes it shine. We want you to put your unique culinary flare into the soups and broth we serve, creating a product our customers will crave.

Requirements:
  • Experience preparing and cooking food for large groups (minimum 30 people). This could be as a chef, line cook, home cook, or caterer
  • Must be knowledgeable about dietary restrictions, food allergens, and ingredient combinations
  • Creative thinker with a desire to express themselves through the art of cooking
  • Catering experience a plus
  • Familiarity cooking for special dietary restrictions a plus (paleo, gluten-free, etc.)
Compensation will be based on skill and experience. Compensation this position is How to apply
