Atlanta Harvest is an urban farm focused on innovative food production and community development. We began in 2014 to address the lack of job and food accessibility within disadvantaged communities, as well as, to provide a steady source of locally grown lettuce year round.

Today we are one of the largest producing farms in the City of Atlanta and work in a under-resourced neighborhood in the southeast section of the city. We provide job training and local food to the area as well as distributing wholesale produce throughout the City of Atlanta. We use a combination of soil growing and hydroponics techniques in high tunnels to produce a high volume of produce in a 2-acre parking lot. We strive to redefine where you can grow food and who is involved in the local food movement. Job description We are looking to hire a part time farm hand to assist the team lead and farm manager in daily farm production. The position is 20-30 hours a week. The Farm Hand will help in all aspects of production from seeding to harvest and includes general farm maintenance such as repairing structures and weeding. This is an excellent position for anyone interested in urban farming, community development, and basic hydroponics. This is position is year position with long term opportunities for advancement. 

Responsibilities include:

• Harvesting
• Transplanting
• Seeding
• Daily activity set up
• General site maintenance and clean up
• Preparing orders for delivery/pickup
• Occasional deliveries in farm vehicle

Job Requirements:

• Attention to detail
• Must be able to lift over 35 lbs
• Ability to be punctual and work early in the morning
• Positive attitude 
• Ability to work and communicate with a team
• Initiative to complete tasks
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to work in high heat conditions 
• Previous Farm Experience is preferred
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation

Compensation:

• $10/hour with bonuses based off sales
