Objective: To provide Isla Vista Food Co-op customers with high quality, good tasting, safe and nutritious food for their pleasure and convenience. Coordinate and oversee all kitchen operations to ensure the fulfillment of high quality product to meet all daily kitchen department production requirements.
These include but are not limited to sandwiches, wraps, salads, dips, desserts, snack packs, and more. To develop and fulfill the food service needs of high quality special events both internal and external to the Isla Vista Food Co-op, including but not limited to our Catering Program, in-store tastings, off-site Co-op Kitchen wholesale-to-retail item program.
This is a full-time position with medical, dental, vision, vacation & sick pay, plus a robust in-store food benefits package!
Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year experience in retail management
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in food service or other relevant provable experience.
- Managerial-level ServSafe Certification, or ability to take test within first month of hire.
- Experience in deli operations, high-volume food preparation, recipe development
- Experience in personnel management (interviewing, hiring, training, evaluation and discipline)
- Proven ability to develop and implement budgets and to adhere to cost and margin requirements
- Previous experience with ordering, pricing and inventory control
- Strong organizational skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to manage and motivate staff
- Ability to plan, develop, implement and assess systems for efficient and productive operations
- Commitment to superior customer service and to providing the highest quality shopping experience possible
- Ability to work well with others in a cooperative environment where teamwork and constant communication is essential
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Regular, predictable attendance
- Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments
