The Brownsville Community Culinary Center is a non-profit, culinary/hospitality teaching program with a retail café/bakery and holds a unique, dynamic, game-changing, untraditional situation. The BCCC is committed to offering healthier, accessible cuisine to neighborhood residents through our eatery. Our culinary training program educates and inspires participants to excel in the food-service industry. We offer services that support our program participants as they cultivate and work toward their dreams. The BCCC is a forum through which the Brownsville neighborhood can address and organize around issues of food injustice. We strive to collaborate with resident-led initiatives.
Job descriptionResponsibilities:
- Assist in leading a small team of participants throughout service five days a week, including checking sidework, monitoring performance, and providing assistance and feedback
- Training program participants on using POS, beverage service, table service, and general guest engagement
- Team up with our Executive Chef and Operations Director to provide guidance and education at daily pre-shift
Guest service and attention both in and out of the dining room. - Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of the dining room area at all times.
- Maintain proper health and safety regulations
- Assist with administrative tasks.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of front-of-house hospitality experience in restaurant
- thrive on attention to detail and passionate commitment to hospitality.
- has a base knowledge of cooking techniques and ingredients
- has high-level communication skills, poise and confidence on the floor, and a friendly and approachable nature.
