Job descriptionTitle: Cheese Monger
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Deliver product knowledge and expertise to clients and employees
- Own Ordering/Accurate Inventory for the cheese and deli department
- Price cheese, cured & deli meats, packaged cheese & meat products
- Buy cheese for case – distinctive local items, range of price points
- Provide input on items to produce & merchandise in-house cured meats
- Buy local cured meats to fill out assortment in whole and pre-sliced forms
- Merchandise in house deli meats & salami
- Buy and merchandise local deli meats and salami to fill out deli assortment
- Source or pack sliced cheese, packaged cheese, sliced meats for grab n go
- Design & build cheese and meat boards for café and to-go
- Train and educate new hires, off day staff on cheese & deli
- Publish item descriptions, recipes, deli board instructions
- Recommend items
- Support in-house cured meat production
- Fill-in on café register during breaks or gaps in coverage
- Clean and organize galley and merch space, maintain deli slicer and refrigeration
- Other supporting items (daily deli sandwich, pickling, sauce/spread prep, etc)
- Assist with Coffee Program
