Do you have at least 2 years of culinary experience under your belt but over the BS of the traditional kitchen culture? Are you interested in branching out to gain more business operations experience outside of the kitchen? Is paying close attention to details a given when it comes to the skills in your toolkit?

Working directly with our Executive Chef and Director of Operations, the Culinary Fulfillment Coordinator is a key and unique role. This hybrid position is part of both our kitchen and fulfillment departments, splitting their time throughout the week assisting the culinary team with menu production and fulfilling client orders. We are a boutique business on the brink of expansion and the right person will see this role as an opportunity to take on greater responsibility. 

 

Yes, there will be times when it’s come down to the wire and our team must pull together to make it happen. But unlike the typical NYC restaurant setting, our Executive Chef prides themselves on fostering a positive environment while also maintaining order in our fast paced, high-volume production kitchen. We truly value the opinions of all our employees as stakeholders to growing our company and helping to continually improve our operations.

 

Plus no commuting to the city! This full-time position will work with our team based out of our commercial kitchen in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn and have a set weekly schedule of Sun-Thurs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work side by side with cooks, chefs and fulfillment team to ensure the highest quality of food is created for our clients
  • Prepare and cook food as outlined within our recipes
  • Maintain the company’s high standards of quality through quality control procedures
  • Oversee all outgoing orders to verify all items are accounted for and in good quality
  • Lead the fulfillment team in the organizing and packaging of meals for client orders
  • Assist in troubleshooting any relevant issues related to fulfilling orders with client services and operations
  • Relevant administrative duties, such as managing inventory, printing client orders, labels, and communicating with delivery drivers
  • Provide updates and collaborate with team members across departments
  • Continuously search for process improvements and ways to streamline efficiency and improve client experience
 

Qualifications:

  • Certificate, associate degree or similar in Culinary Arts preferred but not required
  • 2+ years work experience in a busy kitchen setting
  • Ability to read and follow standardized recipes and operational processes
  • Well-versed and knowledgeable of proper food handling procedures; Food Handlers License preferred
  • Solid interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organized, and ability to multitask while completing time sensitive projects
  • Self-motivated and sets high personal standards with the ability to work as part of a team but also able to work independently
