Haven’s Kitchen Sauces are a new product line from Haven’s Kitchen, a cooking school in Flatiron, NYC. Originally founded as a recreational cooking school, Haven’s has grown into a multi-hyphenate business. The sauces are an extension of both our mission to support home cooking and our growing brand.
Currently available at NYC Whole Foods, Fresh Direct, Foodkick, Gourmet Garage and a few other retailers, Haven’s Kitchen sauces are poised to enter dozens more doors and open up several new distribution networks in 2019. A completely new segment in grocery, HK sauces are fresh, refrigerated, globally-inspired, and packaged in pouches. Vegan and gluten-free, HK sauces can be used as a finished sauce or as an ingredient, making meal prep convenient and fun for the consumer. Job description
Haven’s Kitchen Sauces is seeking an energetic, analytic, resourceful Director of Operations. Reporting to the Founder, she/he will be responsible for daily management of the entire Operations team. They will oversee all Contract Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Production, Warehousing, Distribution and Customer Service functions. This position is responsible for all COGS, through-put efficiencies, freight rate and on-time rates and will work in alignment with company sales forecasts and objectives for Haven’s long‐term growth and profitability. This is a hands-on role that requires a leader that is comfortable with managing a team, working in an “all hands on deck” atmosphere, and has the ability to operate both tactically and strategically.
Roles and Responsibilities
Supply Chain
- Responsible for the setup, maintenance and improvement of company’s supply chain
- Main POC for all key suppliers, co-packers, and service providers
- Manages all in-house operations team members
- Collaborates with Haven’s Kitchen’s sales team to build supply/demand forecast
- Responsible for all COGS saving initiatives forecasted in budget
- Will further develop and maintain robust QA/QC systems and procedures
- Project lead on all new item launches requested by sales and leadership
Operations
- Maintain 97% fulfillment rate
- Source, maintain, and negotiate all freight/warehousing contracts
- Leads EDI implementation when necessary
Financial
- Work with Haven’s team to build out 3-5-year budget model and refine external facing deck
- Support budgeting and cash management processes
- Track KPIs and conduct significant analytical and quantitative deep dives into supply chain data to help drive improvements across the company
Requirements
- Experience leading end-to-end (ideally refrigerated) supply chain management for a small, growing company
- Excellent communication skills
- Action and results-oriented with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Familiarity with managing production and logistics
- Strong Microsoft Excel capabilities
- Management experience
- Excellent references
- Experience leading co-packer relationships
