Job description

The Pastry Cook is responsible for executing daily and weekly recipe production in the Pastry area for the San Vicente Bungalows. They will utilize baking skills and previous pastry experience to prepare recipe components, assemble product and perform all necessary procedures related to production in the commissary.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate proactively with the Pastry Chef throughout all shifts. Ability to ask for help and work as part of the larger Culinary team.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Pastry Chef / Sous Chef in accordance with the needs of the club
  • Work with a sense of urgency and purpose to achieve daily, weekly and long-term goals
  • Able to monitor baking processes and identify issues and/or adjustments to adhere with San Vicente Bungalows quality standards
  • Knowledge and skill with a variety of kitchen tools and equipment, including but not limited to quart mixers, dough sheeter, combi ovens etc…
  • Monitor proper storage, FIFO, and shelf life guidelines for all products
  • Track product and assembly information in daily batch log
  • Maintain a sanitary and organized work environment
  • Follow and comply with all established procedures, recipes and guides, including but not limited to assembly, equipment SOPs, weights and measures, health and sanitation, and general safe work practices


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in baking and/or related pastry production
  • Open schedule a must to provide adequate service level to our private club; currently looking for FULL TIME cooks only
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and 50/75 lbs. occasionally
  • Efficient time management skills
  • Be passionate about the food industry with a strong interest in high quality products
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Food Handler certification 
  • Understanding of proper pastry methods, techniques, and standards
Compensation this position is : hourly, $15/hr + Application instructions
