Marketing & Social Media Coordinator Yolélé Foods

  • Date Posted December 18, 2018
  • Location New York, NY
  • Category Business
  • Job type Part-Time
Company description

Yolélé is a revolutionary African food company, focused on traditional crops. Yolélé’s mission is to improve West Africa’s economy and strengthen its communities.

Our first ingredient platform is fonio: a tiny, quick cooking, nutritious, gluten-free grain that only grows in West Africa and cooks similarly to couscous. Fonio is grown exclusively by smallholder farmers and is drought-tolerant. Its cultivation helps to combat the effects of climate change in the quickly desertifying region where it grows.

We are working to build a fair trade, vertically integrated supply chain and global market for fonio-- improving lives for farmers, combatting the effects of climate change through cultivation, and introducing consumers to a delicious, nutritious, African grain.

Yolélé Fonio is sold nationally online and in foodservice channels (fine dining, fast casual, educational and corporate campus dining), and in select retailers in NYC including Whole Foods Market.

We are working to introduce consumers to this awesome new-ancient grain.
