Job Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist will play a key role in Seal the Seasons’ inventory control and food safety functions. The role will be responsible for compiling records and managing data relevant to ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping of all inventory for Seal the Seasons. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for planning, assigning, and directing the work of our manufacturing partners to safely and efficiently manage inventory, manage food safety administration and meet established expectations for Seal the Seasons.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor manufacturing partners GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Food Safety SOPs
  • Internal audit on all food safety and quality processes of our manufacturing partners
  • Monitor and data entries in our “track and trace” software system
  • Working with our partners to train their employees in data entry for our software and inventory systems
  • Monitor all quality reports and COAs for all products and develop correctional action plans as needed
  • Track and monitor customer complaints and develop correctional action plans as needed
  • Monitor accuracy of deliveries, shipments and storage of all inventory movements
  • Direct the allocation of materials, supplies, and finished products
  • Review the success of logistical functions and identify areas for improvement
  • Propose improvements to management and eliminate short shipping to customers.
  • Responsible for actual inventory counts; must be knowledgeable about inventory items to be counted, the counting procedures used, and location of all inventories.
  • Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequate stock levels.
  • Studies, records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess goods.
  • Other duties as needed

Education/Experience

  • Education: Position requires an associate degree or equivalent in Food Safety or 3 years of direct experience administering food safety
  • Experience: In addition to the above Education, the position requires two years of experience in the food industry or 4 years of food industry experience

Conditions of Work

  • Seal the Seasons operates in a small 1,700 Sq. ft. office on downtown Franklin street
  • This position will not need to travel on a regular basis. There will be travel involved to meet and greet suppliers and vendors that you will have a working relationship with.
  • Team members are expected to work from our office – we have an open-hours policy for flexibility. Typical work day would be 9am-5pm.
  • The company will supply a laptop for this position 
  • Seal the Seasons is a four-year-old company with eight employees – be comfortable with a small team!
