Company description Hui Ho'olana is an educational retreat center and living sanctuary on the Hawaiian Island of Molokai.  In existence for over 2 decades, Hui Ho'olana has been a non-profit center dedicated to  supporting educational experiences through workshops and volunteer residencies. We are home to a native reforestation project using the indigenous Hawaiian plants to create spaces cherished by wildlife and people alike. 

Our sessions are divided into three month blocks. We are currently looking for an assistant cook for the months of April, May and June.
We are a working community with a staff of approximately 9 people, living on property. Job description The available position requires an individual with cooking experience for groups of 20-30 guests. Meals are served three times a day, rotating with the lead cook throughout a 7 to 10 day workshop.

A team player with creative culinary skills and knowledge of various dietary needs is essential. 
The assistant cook would work under the supervision of a lead cook, and participate in prep, menu planning and meal execution.
The use of local and sustainable resources is both a mission and priority to us.
We harvest organic produce from our on-site garden and utilize as much local produce, fish and meats as possible from neighboring farms and co-ops.

Along with the kitchen duties, an additional 30 hours per month of community contributions is required. This would involve activities such as harvesting  and processing fruit, garden help, skimming the pool, etc...

Housing and meals are included, along with the salaried position.
