Job description

Job purpose:
To support the CEO, CFO, and DOO and run the day-to-day financial operations of the business. The bookkeeper is responsible for computing, classifying, and recording financial transactions to ensure the financial records of Cream Co. are accurate. The bookkeeper also performs routine financial calculations and general ledger duties. The bookkeeper may also check the accuracy of calculations performed by other employees. In addition the bookkeeper will run the company’s payroll, benefit programs, and manage Cream Co.’s HR policies. The bookkeeper must be organized, able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure.  
 

Key Roles - responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Work with Cream Co.’s accounting contractors (Controller & CPA etc).
  • Prepare and process all AP activities/checks for CEO sign off
  • Process company Payroll, ~ 20 employees (department manager’s approve hours)
  • Manage and Maintain Cream Co. Benefits Program
  • Work with Cream Co.’s purchasing team and Supply Chain Manager to reconcile vendor bills and ensure inventory & COGS accuracy.
  • Work closely with Credit Manager to set up customers, assign terms, credit limits, and maintain up-to-date records in QB
  • Set up Vendors and ensure accurate and full information within Quickbooks
  • Digital & Hard Copy Filing

Skills & Specifications:

  1. Competent in MS Word, Excel, QuickBooks and ability to learn additional order management, inventory control software.
  2. Strong with numbers and have a talent for data processing.
  3. Understanding of basic accounting principals.
  4. Attention to detail.
  5. Neat, organized, able to work independently
  6. Capable of keeping a process-driven business current and on track.
  7. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  8. Communicate effectively with others.

Job Qualifications:

  1. Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  2. 5 years minimum experience full charge bookkeeping using Quickbooks  
  3. Competent with Journal Entries and Payroll Processing
  4. A thorough experience, knowledge, understanding and application of relationships between G/L, A/R, A/P, COGS, GAAP
  5. Distribution & Wholesale Accounting experience is plus
  6. Spanish as a second language is a plus


Compensation:

This position is a full time 40 hours + a week position. Exact compensation DOE.  M-F, 9-5:30.

  1. Base Pay: DOE
  2. Insurance Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision)
  3. 10 Paid Vacation Days granted Jan 1st of each year
  4. Per Oakland Sick Leave Measure FF, all employees can accrue a maximum 72 hours (9 business days) of sick leave annually accrued at 1 hr. per 30 hours worked
