Company description Simms Restaurants was founded by third generation restaurateurs Mike and Chris Simms, together with their father Tom, a hospitality legend. Amidst delays in opening their original concept Tin Roof Bistro, the team took on a tiny Manhattan Beach space to open the South Bay’s first craft beer pub Simmzy’s, in 2009.  Three short months later Tin Roof Bistro opened its doors bringing a California wine country bistro to the community. In 2011 the Simms’ partnered with Chef David LeFevre to open Manhattan Beach Post.  Building on their partnership, The Simms-LeFevre team later opened Fishing With Dynamite in 2013 and The Arthur J in 2015, also in Manhattan Beach.  Meanwhile, in 2012 Simms Restaurants ventured out of Manhattan Beach to open a second Simmzy’s in Belmont Shore, followed by additional locations in Burbank, Venice Beach and most recently Huntington Beach.  Now open at The Point in El Segundo, Lil’ Simmzy’s on the Deck represents the group’s tenth restaurant and aims to maintain the same unwavering commitment to provide a guest-first experience. Simms Restaurant Group seeks Brand Storyteller to create inspiring content and implement social media strategy for its growing Simmzy’s concept.  This is a full time position based in our home office in El Segundo, CA.



  • You have a passion for art, design and storytelling
  • You love to create and inspire, and share your work through digital and traditional platforms – social media, website design, print collateral, packaging etc.
  • You are aware of current branding trends, but not driven by or beholden to them
  • You have a passion for great hospitality, food, beer, wine and booze

  • Create content (illustration, copy, photos, video, and graphics) according to social media and digital marketing strategy
  • Create branding and marketing pieces for print collateral and products
  • Manage and post on social media platforms (facebook and instagram), providing a high level of community engagement
  • Contribute to social media strategy with new content ideas including art, photography, video, relationship building and influencer seeding
  • Measure and optimize content based on analytics, and provide timely reporting using analytics tools
  • Attend occasional marketing and community events to document and gather content



  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Expert knowledge of core social media platforms (facebook, instagram)
  • 2+ years professional social media community management experience, required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Fine & Applied Arts, Communication Arts, Marketing or a related field with 2+ years of design experience in a similar role
  • Experience with multimedia and a deep knowledge of art, design, and photography with applied use in advertising, packaging, and merchandise
  • Ability to gather, communicate and present information effectively in an interesting and engaging format
  • Ability to work with pre-existing branding guidelines, while simultaneously developing original material
  • Strong understanding of print process, excellent typography skills, and understanding of creative and marketing trends
  • Photography and video production experience
  • F&B or Hospitality marketing experience preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to proofread
  • Up to date with current events, aware of seasonality, holidays and trends
  • Strong relationship building skills with a high degree of responsiveness and integrity
Compensation this position is : hourly, $15/hr + Application instructions
