The West River Community Project (WRCP) is a non-profit center dedicated to promoting local agricultural, economic and social activities. Central to its mission is our country store and donation based café located in an historic, commercial building in West Townshend, Vermont. In addition to the cafe, we have a post-office, thrift store, commercial kitchen and a seasonal farmer's market. All of this happening in one little store! It is truly amazing and central to our thriving community of farmers, artists, homesteaders, and many other unique individuals.

We are currently seeking a Café Manager/Chef for our donation based café and commercial kitchen. This is part-time salaried position. 30 hours/week for $25-28k/year, depending on experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION/REQUIREMENTS 

We are looking for someone to:

Open/Close café and monitor day to day routines

Maintain standard health department guidelines

Promote our donation based café, wood fired Pizza on Friday nights, and commercial kitchen

Help establish a menu based on local, seasonal farm produce and Vermont products

Cook from scratch with local, farm produce and meats

Purchase from our local farmers and vendors, especially at our weekly farmer’s market

Work with our director to establish and follow a budget along with ordering guidelines

Coordinate/Train staff

Knowledgeable about Square POS system

In addition, we are looking for someone who is:

Friendly and community orientated

Values local, farm fresh food and has a passion for working with these ingredients

Neat, organized, and works well with others

Communicates well with staff and clientele
