We are currently seeking a reliable, responsible, efficient and detail-oriented candidate to manage delivery of orders to our customers in the SF Bay Area. You will be responsible for packing orders, making deliveries and maintaining inventory. Delivery range includes Marin, East Bay, South Bay/peninsula, and San Francisco.

Currently deliveries are made between 10am-4pm on Wednesdays (SF & South Bay) and Thursdays (East Bay & Marin).  (Days may be negotiated for the right candidate, but preference for deliveries over two days mid-week.) 

Your role as a delivery driver will start immediately. You will work directly with the operations manager to pack orders, and take over management of packing orders and maintaining inventory once you are fully trained.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with operations manager or owner weekly on orders received.
• Prepare packages for deliveries. This may include labeling snacks, inserting instruction cards, writing gift card messages, collecting soups from freezer, collecting snacks from refrigerator, packaging contents into reusable bags, etc.
• Deliver all orders in timely manner to preserve freshness.
• Keep diligent records on inventory.
• Communicate regularly with operations manager and owner.

Qualifications:

• CA drivers license and clean driving record
• Must have car and proof of insurance
• Must have cell phone to communicate with customers as needed
• Ability to read MS Excel spreadsheets
• Start workday at our commercial kitchen in downtown, Oakland
• Arrive on time
• Excellent work ethic
• High level of attention to detail
• Ability to take direction as well as operate independently
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
• Ability to withstand cold temperatures for short periods of time (this job requires packing foods that are stored in a deep freezer)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Must be willing to go above and beyond to help customers, many of whom are vulnerable and in need of extra assistance
• Positive attitude
• Ability to communicate effectively with Kitchen Doula staff and customers

Preferred skills:

• Experience as delivery driver
• Knowledge of basic food safety and handling guidelines
• Experience in packaging, customer service, storage and inventory management
• Interest in local food systems a plus

This is a part-time position; hours will vary weekly (approximately 10 to 20 hours/week). Hours may fluctuate or increase as business grows. You will be required to submit W-9 upon hiring.
