Company description Sugar River Farm is a pasture based rotational grazing livestock farm started by Dan and Kristen Boffo in 2013.

Fueled by a desire to be more connected to their food and community, Dan and Kristen left their careers in project management to intern at farms they admired; Kristen with Joel Salatin at Polyface Farm in Swoope, VA and Dan with Pete & Jen's Backyard Birds in Lincoln, MA.  From there, they relocated to the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and began raising their own pastured chickens, ducks, heritage pork, turkey and eggs.  Internship description As a Livestock Assistant, your first task will be to learn what we do with the ultimate goal of complete ownership of the day to day responsibilities of our livestock program. We will teach you how to manage the brooder (code for the chick nursery), move the mobile coops to fresh grass, feed and water chickens, turkeys and pigs and gather and wash eggs from our pastured hen flock. Other tasks may include special projects, moving birds from the brooder to pasture, general landscaping and fence maintenance. This is a great opportunity if you would like to have a farm of your own - you will learn a lot.

You will need to be able to comfortably lift 50lbs and work in all types of weather. This position is generally 20 hours a week, Monday through Friday, although we will need you to work two Saturdays a month and you'll get a weekday off. For the right person, there may be opportunities for extra paid hours. The ideal candidate is available from May to October. Compensation this position is : hourly
