Wholesale and Events Assistant Think Coffee

  • Date Posted May 14, 2019
  • Location New York, NY
  • Category Business
  • Job type Part-Time
Company description Think Coffee is a NYC owned and operated coffee company. We work hard to be as sustainable and ethical in our practices as possible. We are a safe space work environment.

Many in coffee-growing communities around the globe lack adequate shelter, access to clean water and other basic human necessities. To address these issues, some U.S. coffee companies rely on blanket third-party certifications that may or may not address the specific problems faced by farmers or farm workers at a particular origin; other coffee companies make vague claims of responsibility or transparency.

Think Coffee is very specific. We ask the members of the community what need is most pressing, and we partner directly with our farmers to implement a project addressing that need.  We know that our Social Project Coffee sourcing model works. We have documented the results at thinkcoffee.com. To date, we have:

  • Helped keep hundreds of girls in school in Kellensoo, Ethiopia
  • Provided clean drinking water to 345 people near Totagalpa, Nicaragua
  • Helped rebuild the homes of 47 farmer families near Aponte, Colombia
  • Restored 16 homes for the farm workers at Finca Santa Teresa
