Overview

Community Foodworks seeks an an active and engaged member of his/her/their community to support our Family Share Program:

 

The Family Share offers a fresh fruit and vegetable subscription to individuals who cannot be physically on-site at the market to purchase their fruits and vegetables. By bringing fruits and veggies to our community partners, like child-care centers, clinics, and apartment buildings, CFW supports more people with access to fresh, local food. Through the Family Share program, families register to buy a weekly bag of fresh, local fruits and vegetables directly at their community institution. Staff members are also eligible to participate. These shares are offered at a discount for qualifying families: CFW offers a $40 bag for 75% off at just $8 per bag.

 

The Community Program Associate will serve as the point of contact and ambassador for the Family Share program at 2-4 host sites. This involves interacting with site administrators as well as the customers who sign up.

 

Responsibilities:

 

The Community Program Associate must bring strong organization skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people. Activities will include:

  • Coordinating a weekly schedule with the Program Manager to ensure that they are prepared for operations for the week ahead
  • Promoting the Family Share through tabling events at their assigned partner site
  • Conducting sign-ups and answering questions about the program
  • Sharing resources about the program with Host Sites and Participants
  • Learning CFW’s sign-up and pick-up tracking process and train host sites on these processes
  • Using CFW’s pick-up and payment tracking system to ensure clients are compliant with weekly payments
  • Reaching out to customers to confirm participation, clarify issues, collect feedback, via phone, text, and/or email.
  • Answer Host Site and participant questions about the program and about produce
  • Share knowledge about local food
  • Collaborate with CFW’s Program Manager to plan, collect, and organize participant feedback
  • Be open to try new tactics / tools for engagement!
 

Skills:

 

The ideal Community Program Associate will be be reliable, friendly, and outgoing. He/She/They should have an interest in eating or trying fresh food. Cooking skills are a plus!

  • Outgoing - Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willing and able to safely lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Be comfortable taking direction from the Program Manager
  • Must be able to work independently and responsibly
  • Be organized, reliable, timely
  • Comfortable with smartphones and smartphone technology (apps)
  • Be able to get to different areas of the city on his/her/their own
  • Spanish language skills a plus but not required
  • Be able to work at various locations throughout the city, mainly in Wards 7 & 8
 

Compensation

6-7 hours per week, coordinating schedule with Program Manager

Monthly Stipend: $320
