Job Summary: The Development and Communications Coordinator is responsible for implementing the development strategies to grow WITS both financially and operationally. The candidate should be flexible with the day-to-day expectations and demands of the role, a team player, and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced and intellectually challenging environment.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with and a passion for social media
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; experience with Salesforce or similar CRM preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, collaborative, ever changing environment
- Ability to multi-task and to exercise good judgment
- Detail oriented and deadline focused
- Passion for Wellness in the Schools’ mission
- A bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of relevant experience, non-profit background preferred
Responsibilities pertaining to position (including, but not limited to):
- Fulfill variety of clerical roles to support program staff
- Supporting relationships with WITS Chef and Fitness Partners
- Conduct ongoing outreach and research of potential corporate, government, and foundations for partnership and grant opportunities
- Assist with grant proposal writing and outreach; including editing and tracking
- Engage new and existing network via scheduled donor asks, outreach, and strategic engagement opportunities
- Track relationships, donations, and pledges via Salesforce
- Support a portfolio of fundraising/marketing events. Calendar includes, but is not limited to: WITS Gala (annual tasting event), Move for Kids, Fall Harvest Dinner, NYC Marathon, Associate Council, salon dinners, and annual giving campaign. Includes:
- Liaison with contractors
- Managing marketing/promotion, fundraising, day of coordination, press relations, social media
- Tracking event details, attendee contacts, etc via Salesforce
- Manage and expand social media engagement for WITS via content delivery, tracking, and outreach
- Assist with donor acknowledgement including thank you letters and SWAG/gift fulfillment
