Job descriptionPosition Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled inventory and sales analyst to forecast inventory, analyze data, and help us manage an artisan perishable product. This is an important role providing ongoing quantitative analysis of our sales forecast and production data to ensure that our current and future inventory needs are properly balanced. This is an immensely complicated job due to the diversity of our product line and challenges surrounding the aging of specialty cheese. This position will report to and collaborate with the Sales Director. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, think outside the box and use Excel modeling to communicate current and future trends.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and processes reports that will facilitate the analysis and interpretation of sales, marketing, and inventory plans as they relate to the company financial plan
- Act as a bridge between Quality, Sensory and Sales departments
- Communicate effectively with multiple departments on any given projects to ensure accuracy and overall success
- Oversee weekly order allocations and allocate on an as needed basis
- Document discrepancies such a missing or mislabeled items
- Organize and set agenda for monthly inventory and production meetings as well as vault walk-throughs
- Work with the Sensory and Marketing teams to select inventory for specific private label and special release programs
- Manage inventory before our weekly allocation cycle occurs to drive sales
- Monitor and analyzes progress against plans and suggest adjustments and their anticipated impact
- Identify and lead the implementation of programs to improve forecast accuracy
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform and understand complex data analysis
- Excellent quantitative skills
- Establish solid inter-departmental working relationships
- Supply Chain knowledge
- Understanding of financial implications of inventory levels
- 3 or more years of supply chain experience including program design preferred
- Expert level skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Background in cheese or specialty food desired
- Sensory evaluation skills a plus!
