Position Description:  

Hidden Villa is poised to move into its next cycle of growth and inspirational organizational leadership using its property and facility resources to fully leverage its extensive programmatic offerings.  Long term strategic goals of building Hidden Villa into an example of sustainable and climate/ecosystem conscious facility management are being developed that will require a dedicated and passionate leader to motivate and drive the property team toward these goals. The Facilities Manager will manage the operations at Hidden Villa primarily by leading the Property Department management team in building and implementing a long term vision for the facility with measurable and attainable goals. Hidden Villa is a large and varied property with public visitation and multiple educational programs. The Property Maintenance Department provides logistical support for the programs and events offered to the community, implements an annual plan for routine maintenance and program support, develops a prioritized plan of capital improvement projects for the annual budget process, ensures the responsiveness, professionalism and organization of the property department and enforces facility policies.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • As a senior leader in the organization attend executive committee “Leaf Team” meetings to strategize, develop, and implement mission related goals. Communicating these goals with the Property Department and communicating relevant property process and work with all Hidden Villa staff.
  • Provide leadership and management support to Property Manager, Farm Manager, Assistant Farm Manager, Animal Husbandry Manager, and the Facility Rentals Manager.
  • Meet all management deadlines including tri-annual strategic plan, annual capital plan, annual budget preparation and customer response goals
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and improvement of buildings, systems and machinery
  • Continue to implement a multi-year schedule for anticipated major improvements and replacements with a focus on exploring and upholding sustainability best practices
  • Project management for Capital projects
  • Provide risk management oversight of the property and facilities. Enforce OSHA safety regulations and adhere to all local and state regulations as applicable
  • Support the Development Department with donor cultivation activities
  • Work effectively with volunteer groups and individuals to accomplish goals
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance, which may include lifting tables, chairs, equipment, supplies, or other materials
  • This is a working manager position and candidates will engage in physically demanding skilled trade work on facilities, equipment, vehicles, trails, landscaping, etc.

 

Essential Skills, Education, Experience and Personal Qualities

  • 5 years of experience managing staff in a maintenance or construction position
  • 3 years of experience in electrical, plumbing or other construction trades
  • Experience and knowledge of environmentally sustainable technologies and regenerative agricultural practice desirable
  • Certification or demonstrated knowledge of maintenance management best practices
  • Documentation establishing your right to work in the United States is required
  • Incumbent must be able to pass DOJ background check
  • Current valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • Ability to prioritize work based on safety needs and programmatic use and to delegate effectively
  • Be skilled in training or instructing others
  • Maintain performance and good attitude under pressure or during stressful situations
  • Continually strive to complete projects on time and within budget constraints
  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Possess excellent organizational skills

 

Position Title:  Facilities Director
Reports to:  Executive Director
Department:  Facilities Maintenance

Facilities Director is a Residential Position-There is a two bedroom one bathroom house on the Hidden Villa property that accommodates this position.

Working Hours:  8 – 5 weekdays, responsible for 24 hour “on call” coverage and rotating weekend duty.  Housing and related expenses (utilities, maintenance) are provided by Hidden Villa.  This position will be available in June.

Salary:  Commensurate with experience.
