About the Role:

INDAY is looking for a rockstar Catering Manager that will help us spread food karma and bring delicious, healthful and beautiful meals to even more offices and customers all over NYC.

 

Catering is a big (and growing!) part of our business and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, organized and experienced Catering Sales Manager to help take us take it to the next level. You will be responsible for overseeing our daily catering operations as well as helping to grow our catering sales through local outreach and relationship building efforts. You’ll work directly with the restaurant leaders on a daily basis, manage your catering delivery team, and have support from the corporate team. Typically, hours would be part time, but will have some variation depending on the week's orders

 

The ideal candidate should have exceptional customer service skills, impeccable attention to detail, a willingness to grow a business, and experience in catering/events sales. A rolodex filled with potential client contacts is a plus. If you fit this description, we would love to meet you!

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

CATERING SALES:

  • Meet and exceed period and annual revenue targets for all INDAY stores offering catering
  • Increase catering sales by developing and executing a strategic sales plan, with strategies such as:
    • Market catering program to new clients through linkedin outreach, networking, and other creative avenues
    • Conduct at least 25 prospecting calls/visits per week in addition to e-mail outreach
    • Schedule weekly in person tastings
    • Identify networks to present our catering packages
    • Network with community partners
    • Active cultivate relationships with and manage our existing clients
 

CATERING EXECUTION

  • Manage all INDAY catering client communications including creating orders, receiving/confirming orders, day-of issues, follow-up and weekly outreach
  • Oversee the catering manager and/or restaurant General Managers to ensure catering orders are perfectly executed. This includes managing/scheduling your delivery team, and problem-solving any issues that may arise
  • Train and develop the catering delivery team to ensure a superior experience for our clients
  • Maintain all documents used for the catering business and ensure they are updated on a daily basis (including catering prep lists, labels, Master Sheets, websites, photos)
  • Drive and oversee execution of third party catering services such as Caviar or Zerocater
  • Be a brand ambassador and become an expert in our food and menu
  • Constantly think of new ways to improve the catering program through refinement of the catering menu and expansion on what is offered to our clients
  • Evaluate current logistics and implement new procedures that promote efficiency and scalability
  • Deliver and set up catering orders to offices or homes when needed (e.g., large orders or VIP client)
  • Any other tasks as required by your manager
 

SKILLS AND KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 3 years of restaurant catering/sales experience, including a proven record of meeting sales goals (multi-unit experience a plus)
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • An exceptional work ethic and a commitment to INDAY’s mission
  • An ability to multi-task and thrive within a high-pressure environment
  • Intermediate computer skills (comfort with microsoft office suite and Google docs) + have a personal computer
  • Strong leadership and people skills with ability to build and foster a team environment
  • The ability to lift up to 40lbs
  • No fear to roll up your sleeves to prepare rush orders and execute catering deliveries from start to finish

OTHER IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Existing rolodex of potential catering business contacts
  • A natural problem-solver: You can identify things that aren’t working and take a ‘can-do’ attitude to figure them out!
 

TIME COMMITMENT AND PAY

  • Ability to work at least ~25 hours during the weekday from 9am-~12pm and flexibility to respond to inbound requests in the afternoons/evenings
