Job description

Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in all aspects of lunch service and daily kitchen operations.
  • Oversee prep cooks and trains new BOH staff
  • Responsible for writing daily prep list (coordinate with chef when necessary regarding prep levels, low stock items, and special event prep)
  • Responsible for controlling flow of food from kitchen during lunch service and communicating low count items, 86 items, and times when kitchen is backed up to service staff and chef
  • When scheduled to do so, assist with special event prep, set up, execution, and kitchen closing.
  • Ensures all health and food safety regulations are followed

 

Qualifications

 

  • One year experience as a prep cook and two years experience as a line cook
  • Must have ServSafe certification or successfully complete certification within one month of hire date
  • Respectful and clear communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in fast pace environments with a positive attitude
  • Friendly, energetic and good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent decision making and organizational skills
  • Team player and problem solver
  • No smoking on property
  • Have reliable transportation and be punctual
  • Have flexible availability for work hours and schedule
  • Must be able to work inside and outside in various weather conditions

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

  • Schedule: Seasonal – hiring for immediate start date through November 16, 2019. Full-time 35-45 hours per week between 9:30am - 6:30pm, 5 days a week (weekdays, weekends, holidays and some early evenings); occasional hours during later evenings.
  • Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour, dependent on experience and room & board needs
