Job descriptionPomegranate in Brooklyn is seeking an experienced and qualified Executive Chef to run and organize the kitchen’s day to day production. We expect everything we produce to be of the highest quality and ensure that we are on the cutting edge of what we offer to our customers and our Team. In return, we provide a first shift schedule, Saturdays off, and extremely competitive pay.
You will be the first in command of a hard-working team within a constantly improving facility with state of the art equipment. You will be expected to create and inspect all of the items we produce in house, as well as oversee the B.O.H staff, take care of inventory and ordering, and create and maintain the quality and efficiency of his/her kitchen and food production areas.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring service runs smoothly
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
- Supervising kitchen staff
- Estimate food requirements and food/labor costs
- Overseeing and assisting with food production tasks
- Ensuring that quality and cost standards are consistently obtained
- Kitchen administrative duties- Inventory and ordering, quality control
- Menu creation with development kitchen
- Approve and quality control products before they reach the customer
- Be fully in charge of managing and training kitchen staff
- Comply with nutrition, kosher, and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Monitor time and payroll records
Requirements:
- 3+ yrs. experience as head chef
- Excellent record of kitchen management
- Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs(MS Office, restaurant management software, POS
- Credentials in health and safety training
- Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
Chef candidate should have a positive attitude and be able to communicate clearly, professionally, concisely and respectfully. Conversational Spanish is preferred. Must have a flexible schedule.
