maman opened its doors in soho in october 2014. quickly embraced by new york locals and international visitors, our café, restaurant & event space has flourished with multiple locations across manhattan, brooklyn, & toronto. maman (mother in french) is a melding of the founding partners – benjamin sormonte and elisa marshall - fondest childhood memories in the kitchen – especially recipes from their mothers – combined with their mutual passion for delivering quality food and a flawless experience within an artful and warm setting. 

maman brings to life childhood favorites, both savory and sweet, from the south of france and north america. the dishes focus on the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients and highlights twists on classic french techniques. the menu changes every day to ensure an inspiring, ever-evolving menu.

open seven days a week, maman offers a selection of delicious baked goods, coffee, fresh breakfast and lunch options, and seated lunch, brunch, and a full bar at selected locations. items include: hearty farm fresh salads, quiches, sandwiches, soups, an assortment of pastries and desserts, including their famous nutty chocolate chip cookie, named one of oprah’s ‘favorite things’ for 2017 and one of the best chocolate chip cookies in new york from ny magazine.  maman also serves coffee from brooklyn’s renowned partner's. 

Job description Busy French and Northern American inspired cafe, bakery, and event space is seeking a full-time Production Baker to join our team!

With multiple locations, we serve breakfast & lunch 7 days a week, along with a selection of house made baked goods, espresso, and tea. Our main goal is to serve not only delicious, but beautiful meals to the public.

We are very well known for our cookies & cakes, which this person will be responsible for preparing daily.

Requirements:
- A base knowledge of production baking
- Detail oriented
- Experienced in catering
- Someone who takes care in making products look beautiful
- Self motivated
- Works well under pressure
- Team focused

MUST be familiar with catering preparations and formats. We have a busy event's schedule, as well as catering business, and need an additional team member dedicated to this style of baking.

MUST be available on Weekends and have a flexible schedule.

Compensation is based on baking experience.
